Charts that stay with the page.
Type a table and turn it into a chart, or draw interactive charts from code. Charts are saved with the page, redraw with your theme, and work offline.

From code
Cells draw the same interactive charts as Jupyter, from the same libraries: Plotly and Altair in Python (fig.show(), or leave the chart as the last value), display.plotly() and display.vegalite() in JavaScript, and plotly in R. matplotlib figures show as images.
```js
display.vegalite({
data: { values: [{ week: 1, cm: 4 }, { week: 2, cm: 9 }, { week: 3, cm: 17 }] },
mark: "bar",
encoding: { x: { field: "week" }, y: { field: "cm", type: "quantitative" } },
})
```From a table
Type a Markdown table with numbers and Vellum offers “Make a chart”; spreadsheets attached to a page have the same button. The chart is a Mermaid bar chart written into the page right after the table, so you can edit it like any text, and no code runs. Mermaid diagrams and math formulas work in any page.
Safe and offline
Each chart draws in its own sandboxed frame with no network access. Chart specs that point at the web are stripped of those links, and the chart libraries are served by Vellum and cached after first use.
In the app
- Tables and charts Type a table, then turn it into a chart.
- Diagrams and formulas Draw flowcharts and write math right in a page.
- Input, files and charts Cells ask questions, read your files and draw charts.
